Tattoo Aftercare
Keep your new tattoo clean and dry while it heals. Wash it gently with mild, fragrance-free soap and pat it dry with a clean towel. I recommend applying a very thin layer of coconut oil once a dayβless is more. Avoid over-moisturizing, as your tattoo needs to breathe.
Take short showers and avoid soaking your tattoo in baths, hot tubs, pools, lakes, or rivers until itβs fully healed. Do not pick or scratch any scabs or peeling skin. Mild peeling and itching are a normal part of the healing process.
If you notice excessive redness, swelling, worsening pain, or unusual discharge, contact your tattoo artist or a healthcare provider.
PIERCING AFTERCARE
β Clean your piercing 2β3 times daily with a sterile saline solution. Spray the area and allow it to air dry or gently pat dry with a clean paper towel.
β Do not twist, rotate, or play with the jewelry. Leave it in place during healing.
β Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing.
β Avoid swimming, hot tubs, lakes, and rivers until your piercing has healed.
β Keep makeup, lotions, and other products away from the piercing unless approved by your piercer.
β Avoid unnecessary pressure or friction from tight clothing, headphones, helmets, or sleeping on the piercing when possible.
β Mild redness, swelling, tenderness, and clear or light yellow drainage are normal during healing.
If you experience severe swelling, excessive pain, thick green or foul-smelling discharge, fever, or the jewelry becomes embedded, contact your piercer or a healthcare professional.
